Entrepreneurship and Empowerment

CSFD empowers organizations and individuals with skills and competencies that are critical for the ever-changing world. Our programs are tailored to harness the potential of the youth and women as key players in economic development.

6.1 Capacity Development

Organizational development is hinged on the capacity of its human capital. As such, the process through which individuals and organisations obtain, improve, and retain the skills, knowledge, tools, and other resources needed to do their jobs competently or to a greater capacity to obtain better results is critical. CSD designs and delivers highly professional capacity building and training services to organizations, incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurs, youth, and women groups. Our capacity building programs are based on the most advanced knowledge management and adult learning principles.

6.2 Core Business Skills Development

Core Business Skills are behavioural competencies, or people skills, which include proficiencies such as business planning, entrepreneurship, business planning, forecasting, and marketing. Other key components include skills in negotiation, personal performance, creative problem solving, strategic thinking and influencing.

6.3 Life Skills Development

Life skills are the abilities and behaviors that help you deal effectively with the events and challenges of everyday life. They are the skills that allow you to handle everything from interactions with others to identifying and processing your emotions. Additionally, while your technical skills may get your foot in the door, your life skills are what open most of the doors in one’s life. Your work ethics, attitude, critical thinking, decision-making, coping, self-management, communication, emotional intelligence, and a host of other personal attributes are the skills that are crucial for personal success.

6.4 Business Development & Mentorship Support

Many entrepreneurs as well small and medium enterprises (SMEs) fail at the initial years of establishment because they lack the needed resources and skills to survive challenges at the early stage of business. This is mostly because they have limited access to financial products and services, and are not aware of people, networks and support services that could lead to the long-term success of their businesses.

CSD provides entrepreneurs and SMEs a pool of mentors who are trained and skilled in supporting businesses to start, survive and grow. Through the BDMS for Youth and Start-ups, CSD works directly with early-stage businesses, supporting their growth through the provision of knowledge, skills, networking and mentorship.

6.4 Business Development & Mentorship Support
